So I recently visited the DryBar in Scottsdale. Instead of writing a huge blog I decided to do this in a q&a format. Scroll below to see the before and after pics.


Why did you get your hair blown out?

I wanted to cut my split ends and try new styles on blown out hair.

Where did you get you hair done?

The Dry Bar in Scottsdale, Az 

How much did it cost?

$40

What did you have done?

I had a blow out, flat iron and style done.

What type of products did they use?

The Dry Bar has their on line of hair products. You can view them in detail on their website.  Moroccan oil was used as a heat protectant and then the stylist used a light “shine serum” as a finishing oil.  You can bring your own products though which is even better.

Do they have experience with textured hair?

Yes. My stylist had experience with textured hair.

Where you worried about heat damage?

A little but when I saw the amount of oil he used to protect my hair I was perfectly fine.  He almost paid more attention to the roots of my hair rather then the ends.

How long did it take?

Four hours. It typically takes a little under two hours for textured hair. Again remember that I also had my hair flat ironed and styled.

Would you visit The Dry Bar again?

Yes I would. Next time though, I’d only get a blow out to save me time.

It's the end of the year and also around the time that people begin thinking about their goals for next year. I've always been a goal setter but this year I wanted to try something different. Cypress Oil for Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are unattractive and can be very painful. I started to get small varicose veins in my late 20’s. Recently though the veins became inflamed and swollen. I work from home and sometimes stand up in front of my computer. This is not good for circulation in the legs. I took to the internet in search for a natural remedy.  Cypress Oil was the number one suggestion for varicose veins.  After reading about the benefits I headed immediately to my Whole Foods and picked up this vial for only $10.00. Cypress Oil is hemostatic and styptic. In other words, it promotes blood circulation. I applied five drops directly to my veins and made a buttercream . Two hours later, the pain had subsided. Right before bed, I applied the buttercream to my legs. When I woke in the morning I was amazed!! The swelling was completely gone, there was no pain and the vein coloring had nearly faded. Finally Approved for Breast Reduction

I'm super excited to announce that my insurance company finally approved my breast reduction. It's been a long and often times frustrating process but I was very determined. Below is timeline of when I started my journey and the steps I took to get my insurance approval.  2016  I lost a little over 20 pounds..without trying mind you but my large breasts remained OUT OF CONTROL. I was still wearing a DDD.  I begin experiencing back pain and taking otc pain medication. After a horrible and stressful Summer, I began to seriously consider a breast reduction. I also started seeing a chiropractor .  My then OBGYN gave me several plastic surgeon referrals. Nearly all of them didn't accept insurance and the one that did required that I go through several months of physical therapy. I put the thoughts of surgery on hold and continue to take my meds.  2017 I had alot going on this year. I'd gotten engaged the year before and was planning a Spring wedding.
